"The designer dress, a creation of fashion student Katie Gwynn at Virginia Commonwealth University, was worn by Katherine Wintsch, the 2015 Richmond Christmas Mother. The satiny silk and wool overdress proved perfect for descending the stairs, parting with each step to reveal long sleek pants underneath.
Gwynn’s design won a contest based on donations to the Richmond Christmas Mother Fund, which is sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch to raise funds for holiday gifts and projects. Gwynn constructed the dress on a tight schedule..."
